Join the Oregon Gambling Research Center for an OREO highlighting current research on gambling harm prevention, emerging gambling products, and innovative approaches to harm reduction.

Andi Dassopoulos, Research Director of the Oregon Council on Problem Gambling, will provide an overview of the Oregon Gambling Research Center and its ongoing research activities. Current initiatives include the statewide Oregon Provider Survey, emerging gambling trends, prediction markets, sports betting, and other research projects designed to inform prevention, treatment, and public policy.

Tazio Marotta, Gonzaga University, will present findings from a study evaluating the Evive smartphone application as a gambling harm prevention tool for college students. The presentation will examine whether a brief digital intervention can improve gambling-related attitudes, awareness, and positive play behaviors, and discuss the potential role of technology-based prevention programs in campus and community settings.

Cassandra Grinstead, Oregon State University, will present research on loot boxes and gambling among adolescents and young adults. The session will explore the prevalence of risky loot box engagement, its relationship with problem gaming and gambling, and implications for prevention efforts targeting youth and emerging adults.
