
Kitty Martz, CGRM, CGAC II, MBA
President, Board of Directors
Kitty Martz is a dedicated advocate, educator, and leader in the field of gambling harm recovery and peer support. She currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the Oregon Council on Problem Gambling.
In addition to her board role, Kitty is the Executive Director of Voices of Problem Gambling Recovery in Portland, Oregon, where she leads programs and initiatives that empower individuals with lived experience.
Kitty’s professional credentials include being a Certified Gambling Recovery Mentor (CGRM) and a Certified Gambling Addiction Counselor II (CGAC II). She also functions as a long-standing SMART Recovery facilitator.
Within Oregon, Kitty oversees the HOPE Peer Program, through which she works directly with dozens of peer mentors—providing training, creating best practices, and helping replicate successful peer recovery models in emerging programs.
Kitty brings to her roles not only professional expertise, but also personal insight as someone with lived experience of gambling harm. She is deeply committed to influencing legislative and policy work aimed at reducing gambling-related harm.
Outside of these formal roles, Kitty contributes to national frameworks: she is a member of the Recovery Committee for the National Council on Problem Gambling.
Her presence as Board President is marked by a blend of lived experience, peer mentoring leadership, policy engagement, and a dedication to elevating recovery systems. She is known for her ability to build collaboration across service providers, peer networks, and public policy arenas.
