The Oregon Council on Problem Gambling (OCPG) is committed to responsible communication and maintaining the highest standards of privacy and transparency in all digital outreach. This policy explains how we prevent, identify, and address unsolicited or inappropriate email activity.
Purpose and Scope
This policy applies to all OCPG staff, contractors, and partners who use OCPG email systems or distribute electronic communications on behalf of the organization. It covers all forms of electronic outreach, including newsletters, announcements, and direct correspondence.
Definition of Spam
For the purpose of this policy, “spam” refers to any unsolicited electronic message sent for commercial or promotional purposes to individuals who have not requested or consented to receive such communication. Examples include:
- Sending bulk or automated promotional emails without prior consent;
- Sharing or selling email lists to third parties;
- Misleading recipients through false sender information or deceptive subject lines.
Our Practices
- OCPG only sends emails to individuals who have opted in, subscribed, or have an existing professional or organizational relationship with us.
- Every email distributed through our systems includes a clear unsubscribe or opt-out option.
- We do not sell, rent, or share mailing lists with outside organizations for marketing or fundraising purposes.
Spam Filtering and Reporting
Incoming messages to OCPG are automatically scanned for spam. If you believe you’ve received an unsolicited message claiming to be from OCPG, please contact us at contact@oregoncpg.org
so we can investigate.
Zero-Tolerance Policy
OCPG strictly prohibits any form of spamming by individuals or partners acting on behalf of the organization. Violation of this policy may result in suspension of access to communication tools, termination of contracts, or other appropriate corrective action.
Policy Updates
OCPG may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in laws, technology, or organizational practes. The most recent version will always be posted on this website.
